The Time independent Schrodinger Equation - a brief introduction

The three dimensional time independent Schrodinger equation is shown in equation 1, using standard Cartesian coordinates (X,Y,Z).

The Schrodinger equation is the quantum mechanical version of the conservation of energy. In Newtonian mechanics the conservation of energy looks like equation 20:
